The RUGFarm Chronicles

Whereupon we find P. Afternoon struggling to maintain composure & direction while being harrumphed by Mrs. L. & confuzzled by Zoe, Tiny Bill hard at work sleeping on the porch surrounded by Kierkegaard, Erasure Head toppling Mole End in an attempt to discover the gravitational pull of the speed of light; and Bagman & Butler going round & round trying to decide whether to ignore or go after Sophie the mermaid, who has taken her pearls & gone back out to sea.

I lay here making guesses
about this poem until
I fall asleep. Yellow crabs
sideways to the waters edge
murmur into the night air.
